Mountain Air Observer expolores the visibility and invisibility of Mount Ararat, a symbol of Armenian identity and landscape. A webcam observes the air between the mountain and the city of Yerevan.

How can we get a sense of an unfamiliar place without being there phyiscally? Why do we look at something more often than we have to?

Air becomes a medium of spatial articulation and shapes the relationship between body, city, landscape, and horizon.

Every half hour a new image of Mount Ararat appears on this website. Click on the cloud symbol turn it into a digital postcard and share it with someone in the world. An airy message that connects Yerevan with other places, carring a story that might otherwise remain unseen.
